Nazca

A 3-hours bus trip takes us from Lima to Paracas, where, among other things, there is the Paracas Reserve and The Ballestas Islands. The islands are a sanctuary, home of one of the richest marine ecosystems in the world. From the islands to the Paracas Reserve, it's an hour-and-a-half boat trip, navigating close to huge sea lions and watching the beautiful beaches of the coast.
One of the unsolved mysteries of Peru lies in Nazca: it's a 31-miles desert where their ancient inhabitants made over 50 gigantic human, animal and geometric figures and criss-crossed lines that go miles and miles straight over the mountains. All that happened 2.000 years ago and the drawings were kept in place up to now! How could they do them, if they couldn't fly and such figures can only be seen from the sky? It's the largest work of art in the world!
